Drive Dry-Sump Six

Standard on the HP900 SC Dry-Sump engine package, the swept-back Six drive improves handling and overall boat performance at higher speeds. The innovative “dry-sump” lubrication system features a precision-oiling pump that sprays a metered portion of oil to lubricate vital internal components. The system, mounted in the gear housing, uses one-fifth the quantity of gear oil used in previous “wet-sump” models. Less oil in the sump reduces friction, adding 50 to 80 propshaft horsepower for improved overall boat performance. The smooth lines of the race-proven Six drive are an artful form following function with an integral mounted power trim cylinder, hydraulic power steering cylinders, and a 10” (254 mm) set-back designed into the drive unit. The Six drive features an upper gear housing that allows for quick change of gear ratios and features a simplified tie-bar arrangement. Internal components include a heavy-duty universal joint and forged lower unit gears for greater strength. The stronger driveshaft is designed to handle higher horsepower and up to 1000 lb-ft (1355 Nm) of torque. A total of five gear ratios are available to meet most boating requirements. Spacers are available to lower the drive unit a total of 3", in 1/2" increments. Features & Benefits Swept-back skeg design. Available with HP 900 SC Dry Sump engine.
